Ice Age Park Engen
The Ice Age Park Engen is unique in its form.
Discover a Late Ice Age landscape, follow in the footsteps of reindeer hunters 15,000 years ago and experience glacial plants in today's climate. Located in the Ice Age Park "Petersfels" is one of the most important Stone Age sites.
The park and its surroundings invite young and old to a discovery tour. Enjoy a half-day trip combined with a picnic in an impressive natural landscape and let the little ones run freely on the Stone Age paths.
Numerous hiking trails invite you to discover the unique flora and fauna. The story of the Stone Age hunters is presented on covered boards.
How to get there? Follow the B33 towards A81 / Hegaukreuz. There follow the A81 until the next exit "Engen". Turn right and after ca. 400 m you will see the exit to the Ice Age Park on the right. Parking is free.To the park it's a 20 minute walk. Plan about 30-40 minutes from Constance / Reichenau.
Important: There is no entry fee for the park. However, there is neither toilet nor food & beverage offer. We are happy to provide you with a packed lunch for a fee, please contact the reception staff.
Tip: Combine the excursion with a visit to the „Lochmühle“ Eigeltingen for a daytrip.
