Reichenau Island in Lake Constance

Our tips for your island vacation

The drive up to the World Heritage Island of Reichenau over the dam, characterized by an avenue of poplar trees, already gives you that holiday feeling. After tourism, vegetable cultivation is a main source of income due to the island’s favorable climate. The greenhouses and fields extend across the entire island. The association of vegetable producers – Reichenau Vegetable eG – takes care of the production and marketing of fresh vegetables every day.

During the processions on the island’s own holidays, the reliquaries are taken from the cathedral’s treasury and carried across the island. On the three holidays, the Feast of St. Mark, the Feast of the Holy Blood and the Assumption of Mary, everything on the island stands still and neither the parents have to work nor the children have to go to school.

Come to the island of Reichenau and discover historical and natural places!
